Biography
Tomatz was born in 1970 in Corpus Christi Texas.
After moving several times, his family finally settled
in the small rural town of Culpepper, Virginia.
There is where he spent his formative years enjoying
the beauty and rawness of the land. Soon this passion
started to emerge through rough sketches of the
landscape and drawings experimenting with bold colors
and canvas. His artistic talents were further enhanced
in school by several courses concentrating on art
history, sketching, and painting.
In college, his interests continued to diversify
by studying still life and anatomy. Graduating from
college brought a new direction and experiences
to the artist¹s life due to his relocation
to South Florida. Known for its ethnic richness
and cultural diversity, South Florida provided Tomatz
with the inspiration he was longing to express through
his art. Tomatz¹s vibrant personality can be
felt and experienced when viewing his pieces. He
uses daring colors and dramatic textures to show
his love of diverse culture, travel, and exotic
environments. Tomatz¹s life when viewed through
a microscope reveals a perfect duality. During the
day, he works in an exciting business career life
utilizing his precise technical skills while feeding
his creative soul at night through painting.
